On the 17th of November, we had the pleasure of running a Rural Ladies Night Out in the small town of Garah in North West New South Wales – and what a night we had!
It was an absolute belter of a day - the temperature pushing a sweltering 35 degrees the conditions were less than favourable. However, we all still managed to get in and a have a great time - especially once that sun finally dipped below the horizon!
The Rural Maker Pop-Up Boutiques were a hit as usual, as the local ladies took the opportunity to grab some great bargains to spoil some loved ones (and themselves!) for Christmas. Such a wide range of stalls were available, from boutique pearls to skin care, to handmade jewellery and candles - you name it, it was there! I really appreciate the stall holders travelling so far to support events like this.
We were honoured by the presence of the majestic “Groovy Booby Bus” and pilots Donna and Jenet, who travelled all the way from Dubbo to share their story and to create awareness about early Breast Cancer detection. The always lovely Carla Dillon also shared her inspirational story about overcoming life’s obstacles to create something special in her “Little Button Essentials” business and midwifery career.

Kate Goodhew absolutely blew us away with her culinary skills. Delicious does not even begin to describe the delights she served up to our guests!

We were lucky enough to have Phil O’Shea and Sam Brown travel down from Goondiwindi. This talented duo allowed the girls to sing, dance and laugh their way through the night. It was so great to see so many people happy and having a great time and forgetting their troubles for a little.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported our little event. A huge shout out to my wing-lady Jess who made it all happen.
Also a special mention to our major sponsor Grain and Trade, and our gold sponsors B&W Rural and Rabobank – without them, a night such as this would not be possible.
I have more events such as this penciled in for the New Year – stay tuned!
Until next time - enjoy some of these happy snaps!
Sam
